Sarofim Hall - Hobby Center

Life Of Pi
The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is located at 800 Bagby Street, Houston, Texas, United States. It is a theater with a seating capacity of 2,650 in Sarofim Hall and 500 in the Zilkha Hall. The inauguration of this theater took place in 2002. It is named after the former Texas lieutenant governor and Houston businessman, William P. Hobby, Jr. This venue was built by general contractor Lyda Swinerton while the architectural work was performed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Morris Architects (RAMSA).
The two theater halls included are Sarofim Hall; designed for Broadway touring productions (Hamilton and Waitress) which is home to Theatre Under the Stars. The place has an upper gallery along with the other two tiers: orchestra, mezzanine. The second hall is the Zilkha hall, which is the only kind of performing arts series found in the country. It hosts small and mid-sized performing arts groups including the Maggini String Orchestra, and Ars Lyrica Houston, and the Psophonia Dance Company. The two masterpiece works of arts commissioned to the theater were "In Minds" two-part bronze British-born sculptor and the "Wall Drawing 2002" by the American painter Sol LeWitt's mural.
Hobby Center tickets have included hit traveling Broadway shows like the Lion King, Hamilton, Wicked, and the Book of Mormon.
The tickets/season tickets for the events are available at the center's Box office, which is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. For discounted online ticket purchase, visit ticketsonsale.com.
