The Ogden Theatre is a former movie theatre and a music venue which is located at 935 E Colfax Avenue, Denver, Colorado. It was opened to the general public on September 6, 1917, with a seating capacity of around 1,600 people at a time. The arena is owned by Doug Kauffman and operated by AEG Rocky Mountains. Harry W.J. Edbrooke designed the architecture of the theater. The venue is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre remained closed from the year 1990-1993 after changing the ownership, and it was reopened for the general public on September 2, 1993.
The Ogden Theatre hundreds of events every year. It featured a cult movie classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” every Saturday when it was a revival house in the 1980s. The Ogden has hosted several performances such as dances, lectures, weekly organ recitals, and vaudeville acts. The legendary Harry Houdini was also featured on the stage of the arena. The theatre now has become the premier concert venue in Denver that features somewhere around 150 concerts annually.
