Capitol Theatre needs no introduction. Located in the beautiful village of Port Chester, Westchester County, New York, it is the historic theatre that was designed in 1926 by Thomas W. Lamb, who was a very famous architect. Capitol Theatre holds a long history. This place was used as a movie theatre, catering hall and a place where concerts are hosted.
This beautiful theatre has two parts with three stories which include the theatre entrance, and three storefronts. Moreover, there is an office space on two stories and a theatre auditorium. On the front section which is four bays deep and nine bays wide has a curtailed hipped roof with attractive terra cotta cornice. However, Capitol theatre has an uneven shape, but still; it is four to seven stories in length.
Many shows, concerts, and comedy shows are organized here by NYC-based concert promoter Peter Shapiro who bought this theatre in 2012. It also used as a filming location for Bo Burnham's (comedian) for his stand-up special Make Happy. Many other top performers have performed their shows here such as Pat Benatar, Blondie, Billy Idol, the Rascals, and Chicago, etc. Capitol Theatre seats around 1800 people.
