The Neal S. Blaisdell Arena is located at 777 Ward Avenue Honolulu, Hawaii. The arena was opened on September 12, 1964, with a theatre seating capacity of around 8,800 (Blaisdell Arena), 2,157 (Blaisdell Concert Hall); Classroom Style seating capacity is about 72 (Oahu Room), 64 (Maui Room), and 48 (Kauai Room); Seating capacity for banquet/ballroom is around 700 (Pikake Room), 350 (Carla Coray Galleria), and 1,000 (Hawaii Suite). The theatre is owned and operated by the City and County of Honolulu. Brown statue of “Elvis” was installed outside the arena in recognition of that concert. The Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall is home to the Hawai’i Opera Theatre and the Honolulu Symphony.
“Aloha from Hawaii” of Elvis Presley was hosted by the arena on January 14, 1973. The venue hosts hundreds of sporting and other events every year. Some popular events that were hosted by the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena are Disney on Ice, WWE, Sesame Street Live, American Idol Live!, International Gymnastics as well as college volleyball and basketball events. Famous music artists who have performed at the arena are Bruno Mars, Elton John, Journey, Santana, Metallica, Aerosmith, Van Halen, and Mariah Carey.
Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, The Phantom of the Opera, and more like Broadway productions, have also been performed at the concert hall.
