Mountain Winery is located at 14831 Pierce Road, Saratoga, California. The Mountain Winery, formerly known as Paul Masson Mountain Winery, was founded by Paul Masson. The venue was built in the year 1901. The Winery is California Historical Landmark #733 that makes it added into the National Register of Historic Places. Currently, it is owned by Chateau Masson. Earlier, the venue was a production house of wine, but in 1952, wine production ceased. However, in 1958 (six years later) the amphitheater started hosting a series of concerts, providing a seating capacity of 2,500 seats for concert attendees.
The venue witnessed performances of some renowned names which include Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, etc. Not only concerts but the Winery also hosted the annual chess tournaments in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Around 2000, the owners restarted winemaking and hired winemaker Jeffrey Patterson. Thus, the vineyards were re-established at the Mountain Winery in 2004. The venue witnessed the concert of the folk band, The Swell Season on August 10, 2010. The amphitheater is known for its ivy-covered stone structure, which gives it an old-world ambiance.
Some past events at Mountain Winery include Chris Isaak, Jeff Dunham, and The Beach Boys concerts.
The tickets can be purchased online at TicketsOnSale.com for the upcoming events to be held at the Mountain Winery. You can also visit the venue’s box office to buy tickets.
