The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is located at 929 N Water St, Milwaukee, WI. The venue was inaugurated on July 26, 1969, as the Performing Arts Center. The center comprises of 4 significant theatres that are Uihlein Hall (seating capacity of 2,305), Todd Wehr Hall (seating capacity of 496), Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall (seating capacity of 475), and Peck Pavilion 400. It also includes an Anello Atriumand, Magin Lounge, Fitch Garden, and a smaller banquet hall known as the Green Room. The center along with these 4 theaters play host to various events including operas, musicals, orchestral concerts, dance programs, theatrical productions, lectures, annual meetings, commencements, film screenings, teleconferencing, seminars, new product introductions, and whatnot.
The Marcus Center is the current home to Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Ballet, First Stage Children's Theater, etc. Harry Weese designs the architecture of the building in a Brutalist style. Some notable events held at this center are The Marshall Tucker Band set recording along with songs recording (Where We All Belong and Searchin' for a Rainbow).
