The Pine Knob Music Theatre is formerly known as the DTE Energy Music Theatre and the Pine Knob Music Theatre. The theatre is located at 33 Bob Seger Drive, Clarkston, Michigan. The venue opened its doors to the general public on June 25, 1972. DTE concerts have a seating capacity of around 15,274 people. The place is owned and operated by the Palace Sports and Entertainment. At the grand opening ceremony of the venue, a matinee performance was held where teen idol David Cassidy played. The theatre was also the largest amphitheater in the United States when inaugurated.

Two nights later after the opening ceremony of the theatre, a concert was hosted was Andy Williams performed and entertained the energetic audience. On November 29, 1990, the Pine Knob was purchased by Palace Sports and Entertainment. Later, in January, the new owner of the theatre was announced stating that the theatre would be renamed to DTE Energy Music Center. The most famous "Chicago" has performed at this venue for over 70 times to date. Almost 25 sold-out shows of Bob Seger have been hosted at this venue. The theatre kept upgrading itself from time to time. Currently, a wider variety of food is available at the amphitheater, an upgrade in audio enhancements took place, and the beer gardens are born.
