Bridgeforth Stadium is a football stadium that is situated on the campus of James Madison University. It is located at Champions Dr. Harrisonburg, Virginia. The Bridge Forth Stadium was formerly known as the Madison Stadium and JMU Stadium. The stadium was open for the general public on September 20, 1975. It has a seating capacity of approximately 25,000 people. Bridgeforth Stadium is currently the largest stadium in the Colonial Athletic Association. HKS Inc. designed the architecture of the Bridgeforth Stadium. The stadium was initially intended as a multi-purpose facility that hosted football, lacrosse, track and field, and field hockey events.
Bridgeforth stadium serves as the home field to the James Madison Dukes Football Team. The stadium has been serving host to various games, including the victories over Appalachian State, University of Delaware, Wofford, Villanova, FCS #1 William and Mary, Central Connecticut State, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Sam Houston State, and South Dakota State. The Dukes played for the very first time at the Bridgeforth Stadium on September 10, 2011, before a sold-out crowd.
