The MVP Arena was known initially as Knickerbocker Arena and was formerly referred to as the Pepsi Arena. It is located at 51 South Pearl Street, Albany, New York. It is an indoor arena with a seating capacity of 6,000 to 17,500 people along with a maximum capacity of 15,500 for sporting events. It also has 25 luxury suites; with sixteen seats, cable television, a refrigerator, and a private bathroom. The arena is under the ownership of Albany County and operated by the SMG. It is a multi-surface arena that was designed by Crozier Associates. The inauguration of the venue took place on January 30, 1990, with a construction cost of $69.4 million. It underwent renovation in the year 2010 with a cost of $1.6 million. The venue is currently home to Albany Empire (AFL) and Siena College's men's basketball teams.

The MVP Arena hosts concerts, sports events, wrestling, college sports, high school sports, etc. The site regularly hosts exhibition games of major sports leagues. The NBA, WNBA, and NHL have all played games here. It also hosted a Built Ford Tough Series event in January 2008. One of the longest games in the history of the American Hockey League took place On April 24, 2008, at this place.

The venue also hosted many televised shows and live events for the WWE which includes 1992 Royal Rumble, WWE New Year's Revolution, Edge, etc. The arena was host to ECAC Hockey championships (2003 until 2010), annual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference basketball tournament, NCAA basketball East Regional, NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships, etc. The arena has hosted numerous concerts by well-known performers.
