The Idaho Central Arena is a multi-purpose arena. It was formerly known as Qwest Arena and originally known as Bank of America Centre. It is located at 233 S. Capitol Boulevard, Boise, Idaho. The venue opened to the general public 22 years ago on September 24, 1997, with a construction cost of $50 million. It has a seating capacity of 5,002 for ice hockey, 5,732 for end-stage concerts, 6,400 for boxing, 5,300 for basketball, and approximately 6,800 for center-stage concerts. HNTB designed the architecture of the Century Link Arena. The venue is owned and operated by Block 22 LLC. It serves as the home arena to the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL since 1997.
Idaho Central Arena has hosted several events, including ice shows, concerts, trade shows, conventions, and other events. The sports events include MMA, professional wrestling, and the Treasure Valley Roller Girls roller derby squad. The venue hosted the 2006 CBA All-Star Game and the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game. UFC Fight Night 133, the MMA promotion’s first event held in Idaho, was hosted by the venue on July 14, 2018. A number of artists and bands have performed at the Idaho Central Arena that includes Godsmack, Judas Priest, Skillet, Luke Bryan, Five Finger Death Punch, Yes, Shine Down, Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band, and Rise Against.
