Phoenix Symphony Hall is a type of Concert Hall located at 75 North Second Street, Phoenix, Arizona. Theresa Elizabeth Perez founded it in 1970. The construction of the venue started in 1969, and the hall was opened for the general public in 1972. It is owned by the City of Phoenix, Phoenix Convention Center and Venues Department. Phoenix Symphony Hall went through renovations in June 2004 costing a total amount of $18.5 million. It has a seating capacity of 2,312 people at a time.
Along with other remarkable features, the venue also has a seating section designated for handicapped people. Not only that, but the theater also has improved accessibility for people with disabilities with the consent of Americans with Disabilities Act. Charles Luckman designed the architecture of the symphony hall.
Phoenix Symphony Hall is home to an orchestra, an opera company and a ballet company named as Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera and Ballet Arizona. The venue serves as a host to different entertainers, diverse dance productions, conventions, and business seminars. Not only this but due to its beautiful architecture, it also attracts Broadway Touring Companies. The Clint Eastwood film, The Gauntlet (1977) features the Phoenix Symphony Hall. Live album of John Stewart, The Phoenix Concerts were also recorded here.
