Princess Auto Stadium is a stadium located at the University of Manitoba, 315 Chancellor-Matheson Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is home field to the Valour FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL), Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL), the Winnipeg Rifles (CJFL), and the University of Manitoba Bisons football team.
Built at a construction cost of $210 million,Princess Auto Stadium opened to the general public on May 26, 2013. The venue has a standard seating capacity of 33,500 people, but it can be expandable to 40,000. It is under the ownership of Triple B Stadium Inc. and operated by Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The architecture was of the building was designed by Raymond S.C Wan des.
On June 27, 2013, the Blue Bombers played their first game at the stadium, losing 38–33 to the Montreal Alouettes. NFL preseason game played there on August 22, 2019, between the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers. The stadium's first soccer match was played on May 8, 2014, between the Canada women's national soccer team and the United States. In addition to its major events, the stadium also hosted the 2015 Grey Cup, 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, and the 2016 National Hockey League (NHL) 's Heritage Classic. Popular bands who gave their live performances at the stadium include; Taylor Swift, One Direction, and Guns N' Roses.
