Saskatchewan Roughriders at Toronto Argonauts

BMO Field is an outdoor stadium located at Exhibition place, 170 Princes’ Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario. Its ground was broken on March 29, 2006. The stadium opened to the general public on April 28, 2007, with a construction cost of approx $62.9 million. The site has a seating capacity of 25,000 people for football, 30,000 for soccer, and further can expand to 40,000. It is owned by the City of Toronto Government and operated by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. Brisbin Brooks Beynon Architects designed BMO Field. The stadium underwent renovations through 2014-2016, with a renovation cost of $120 million. It serves as a residence to the Toronto FC of Major League Soccer since 2007, the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League since 2016, and Canada men’s national soccer team since 2007. Some of the central tenants of BMO Field were Toronto Nationals in 2009 and Toronto FC II in 2018.

Some of the notable events that took place at the stadium are 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Canadian Football, Rugby, Lacrosse, Hockey, and a few concerts. In the history of BMO Field, the biggest attendance was recorded on January 1, 2017, for 40,148 people. The field is cataloged as the preliminary venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
