Washington–Grizzly Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium that is located at Campus Drive, Missoula, Montana. The venue opened to the general public on October 18, 1986, with a construction cost of $3.2 million. It has a seating capacity of 25,203. The stadium is under the ownership of the University of Montana and is operated by the same. It serves as a home field to the Montana Grizzlies – NCAA (Missoula County Public Schools). The venue is said to be the largest all-purpose stadium in the state of Montana. Fox, Ballas & Barrow, along with Rossman, Schneider & Gadvery, designed the architecture of the building. A record attendance of 26,508 was held on November 17, 2018, when Montana played Montana State. The stadium is named after construction magnate Dennis Washington, who donated $1 million in 1985 for financing the stadium's construction. The famous video screen GrizVision was installed in 2002 in the south end zone of the venue.
The inaugural game was held at the Washington–Grizzly Stadium on the opening day, where the Griz has a record of 199–30 (.869) at the venue, through the 2017 season. The home team also played some record-breaking games against North Dakota State, South Dakota, Eastern Washington, Cal Poly, and a few more. The stadium also enjoyed performances by some big-named artists such as Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney.
