Bojangles’ Coliseum is known initially as Charlotte Coliseum and formerly known as Independence Arena and Cricket Arena. It is located at 2700 East Independence Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina 28205, United States. The place was built in 1953-1955 and opened for the public in 1955. This venue is owned by the City of Charlotte and operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority. It has a seating capacity of around 8,600 people at a time. The domed roof of the building is made up of tin, which makes it different from steel and iron made domed roofs.

The renovation of Bojangles’ Coliseum took place in the years 1988-1993, 1995, and 2015-2016. In 1970 and 1992, the expansion of the Coliseum happened. Gouldie Odell (Founder of the Odell and Association) designed the architectural design of this project. James C. Hemphill, Jr. was the project manager.

The arena played a host to many Hockey and Basketball games. It was one of the home venues for Carolina Cougars of American Basketball Association from the year 1969-1974. The arena has also hosted the ACC men’s basketball tournament from the year 1968-1970. The Bojangles’ Coliseum hosted its first hockey match in January 1956.
