The Book of Mormon
The Hollywood Pantages Theatre was formerly known as RKO Pantages Theatre. It is an indoor theatre which is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. This theatre is the last theater built by the vaudeville impresario Alexander Pantages with a seating capacity of 2,703. The auditorium was opened on June 4, 1930, as a part of the Pantages Theatre Circuit. It is under the ownership of the Nederlander Organization. The architect of the theatre is designed by architect B. Marcus Priteca.
The Pantages Theatre hosted the American motion picture industry's annual Academy Award Ceremonies (1949-1959). It was a famous venue for roadshow movies and hosted the first of the many stage productions, Bubbling Brown Sugar. It is one of the leading venues for live theater that recently presented popularly scaled Broadway musicals, Disney's The Lion King and Wicked. Some popular music concerts hosted at this venue include bands like Foo Fighters, Dream Theater, Mark Knopfler. Some famous productions of this theatre are How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Wizard of Oz, The Ten Tenors, Dirty Dancing, The Phantom of the Opera, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc.
