The Fab Four - The Ultimate Beatles Tribute

The Lexington Opera House is an art performing venue located at 401 West Short Street in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. The theater opened to the public on July 19th, 1887, with a seating capacity of approximately 1,000. An American architect Oscar Cobb designed the opera house. It is owned and operated by the Lexington Center Corporation. The venue underwent renovations in 1975. By the late 1970s, it had transformed from a grand theatre to a vaudeville house, and finally a movie theatre.

Lexington Opera House hosts a wide variety of events including opera, ballet, family shows, children’s production, music, comedy, and professional national Broadway tours. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performed the concert at the opening ceremony of the opera house. The Lizzie Evans Stock Company hosted the production of Our Angel in the venue in August 1887. An 1890 production by Henley Regatta flooded the stage of the opera house. Over the years, the opera house has been hosting a variety of notable performances along with famous acts including W.C. Fields, Al Jolson, Harry Houdini, Will Rogers, Sarah Bernhardt, Lillian Russell, John Phillip Sousa, Mae West, Mrs. Tom Thumb, the Marx Brothers, and many more. After the last live performance held here by The Arabian on October 1st, 1926, the venue initiated a new history as a movie theatre.
