The Firefighters at Savannah Bananas

Grayson Stadium, or William L. Grayson Stadium, is located in Savannah, Georgia. The venue was formerly known as Municipal Stadium, which broke ground in 1925. The stadium opened for the public in April 1926 with a construction cost of $140,000. Its primary use is for baseball and serves as the home field of the Coastal Plain League collegiate summer baseball league’s Savannah Bananas. Some of the past tenants include Savannah Indians (SEL) (1926–1928), Savannah Athletics (1954–1955) (SL), Savannah Redlegs (1956–1958) (SL), Savannah Pirates (SL) (1960), Savannah Senators (SL) (1968–1969), Savannah Braves (SL) (1971–1983), and Savannah Sand Gnats (SAL) (1996–2015).

Grayson Stadium is under the ownership of the City of Savannah while being operated by Savannah Bananas and seating a capacity of 4,000. It underwent major renovations in 1941, which was followed by a devastating hurricane the year prior. Getting the $150,000 needed to rebuild the stadium was led by Spanish–American War veteran General William L. Grayson. Due to these efforts, the stadium was named in his honor.

On April 14, 1953, the first integrated South Atlantic League game was played at Grayson Stadium. The venue also hosted the 2017 GHSA Baseball Championships, where Wayne County set an attendance record.
