Houston Ballet - The Nutcracker

The Wortham Theater Center is a performing arts center which is located at 501 Texas Avenue, Houston, Texas, United States. The venue is hosted by the City of Houston, and it is operated by Houston First Corporation. The theatre was opened on 5th May 1987 with a capacity of 2,450 (Brown) and 1,100 (Cullen). The inauguration of this venue was lit by the performance of Tango Argentino in the Brown Theatre. The architectural work was done by Eugene Aubry of Morris Architects. The theater was damaged in 2017 by Hurricane Harvey but got reopened on September 2018.

The Wortham Theater Center has two performing facilities including the Brown Theatre (used primarily for large ballet production and opera) which was named after the donors Alice and George Brown and the Cullen Theatre (used for smaller productions and other various events) named after the donors Lillie and Roy Cullen. The venue impresses visitors with its exquisite architecture, soaring ceilings, and beautiful arched windows.
Some well-known ballets and operas held at this theatre are Premieres, The Merry Widow, Giselle, The Phoenix, and many more.
