The Fisher Theatre is one of the oldest live theatre venues in Detroit. It is located at 3011 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan. The seating capacity of the venue is 2,089 and was added to the National Historic Landmark on June 29, 1989. The Fisher Theatre was designed by the Chicago-based architectural firm of Anker S. Graven & Arthur G. Mayger. It was originally featured as a lavish Aztec-themed interior in the Mayan Revival style. It also once had Mexican-Indian art, banana trees, and live macaws. The theatre operated primarily as a movie house with a 3,500 seating capacity initially until 1961. Later the décor was changed to a simple mid-century design.

The renovated Fisher Theatre was reopened after renovation on October 2, 1961. It is under the ownership of the Nederlander Organization and operated by the same owner. The theatre features traveling productions of Broadway shows while hosting many out-of-town tryouts.

Some of the pre-Broadway engagements at the venue include La Strada (1969), The Gay Life (1961), Applause, The Rothschilds, Not Now, Darling (1970), Into the Light (1986), and many more.

You can call the venue’s box office for the ticket inquiries, or you can visit our websites tickestonsale.com for best-discounted offers.
