BB&T Arena is a multi-purpose arena located at Northern Kentucky University, 500 Louie B Nunn Drive, Newport, Kentucky. It opened on May 10th, 2008, with a construction cost of $64 million. The arena has a seating capacity of 9,400 people for concerts and 8,000 for basketball. It is under the ownership of Northern Kentucky University while operated by SMG. GBBN Architects designed the venue. The arena serves home to Northern Kentucky University and Women's Basketball teams.

Northern Kentucky University's graduation ceremony was the very first event held at the BB&T Arena on May 10th, 2008. The venue hosts a wide variety of events. Among the first performances, the top ones were comedian Jeff Dunham, music star Carrie Underwood, and the cast of the television show Cirque du Soleil, You Think You Can Dance, and the Walking With Dinosaurs live production. The Elite Eight of the NCAA 'Men's Division 2 Basketball Tournament was hosted in the venue in 2012. The arena also hosted World Wrestling Entertainment live on May 10th, 2011. Other well-known performers that performed at the stage of the BB&T Arena include Barry Manilow, Jeff Foxworthy, Dane Cook, Martina McBride, Black Shelton, Luke Bryan, Bill Engvall, REO Speedwagon, and Bob Dylan.
