The Santander Arena is a multi-purpose arena located at 700 Penn Street in Reading, Pennsylvania. It was opened on September 6, 2001, with the former name of the Sovereign Center. It has a seating capacity of 7,160 for ice hockey, 6,000-9,000 for concerts, and 8,000 for basketball. It is owned by the Berks County Convention Center Authority and managed by SMG. The architecture of the venue was designed by STV Architects Inc. and PBK Architects Inc with the Project management under Turner Construction.
Events like concerts, hockey, comedy, family shows, meetings, and conventions are hosted here. Some popular events held at Santander Arena include the 'Built Ford Tough Series' event, Skate America in 2003 and 2007, Slipknot, Korn, and King 810 in 2014, Day one of the East Coast Tsunami Fest 2015 (featuring Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Bodycount w Ice-T), Wisdom In Chains, and Turnstile. Rascal Flatts & Chase Bryant performed at the venue as a part of the Rascal Flatts "Rhythm & Roots Tour" on October 8, 2016. Some famous artists who performed at the arena include Eric Church (Holdin' My Tour on May 18, 2017), Avenged Sevenfold ("The Stage World Tour" on January 16, 2018), and many more.
