Lambeau Field is an outdoor athletic stadium which is located at 1265 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was formerly known as City Stadium that was opened to the general public on September 29, 1957, with a construction cost of $90,000. The venue has a seating capacity of 81,441 along with 168 executive suites. It is under the ownership of the City of Green Bay and Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District. The stadium underwent renovations in the years 2001–2003 and 2012–2015. The 2001-2003 renovation was the major one with a construction cost of $295 million, and the renovation designing was carried out by Ellerbe Becket.
The venue was expanded in 1961, 1963, 1965, 1970, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2003, and 2013. The architecture of the stadium is designed by Somerville Associates. The stadium is the 5th largest in NFL for the standing room while it is the 4th largest when it comes to normal seating capacity. The venue is the oldest that is continually operating the NFL stadium. It serves the current home to the Green Bay Packers (NFL). It is often known by its nicknames as, The Frozen Tundra and A Chilling Championship.
The stadium plays home to the Lambeau Field Stadium Tours, Green Bay Packers Pro Shop, the Packers Hall of Fame, the 1919 Kitchen & Tap, etc. It also hosts weddings, special events, meetings, social gatherings, and receptions. Some popular events held at the stadium are Goin' Coastal Tour, Billy Joel in Concert, The Big Revival Tour Burn It Down Tour, l Fourth of July fireworks display, along with many sporting events.
