World Ballet Company - Nutcracker

Memorial Hall is a famous auditorium located in Pueblo, Colorado. The venue was constructed in 1915 when a vote approved a bond issue of $300,000 for the citizens. It was meant for the construction of the Pueblo City Hall and Auditorium. Pueblo architect William W. Stickney originally designed the auditorium building, and New York architect Godley and Haskell in conjunction with City Hall between 1916 and 1919. The General Contractor at that time was the C.S. Lambie. The Memorial Hall was dedicated to those who died in World War I. It was dedicated on September 25, 1919, by President Woodrow Wilson.

Memorial Hall is a rare and beautiful example of the late 19th Century and early 20th Century design of an auditorium. The building is declared as one of the few representative structures of this period when it comes to Colorado. Since its opening, Memorial Hall has hosted a wide variety of performance events, such as hosting President Woodrow Wilson’s final public address before his inauguration.

The first symphony orchestra conductor was Rafael Cavallo, whereas John Phillip Sousa performed the first band concert. The hall is also best known for various performances offered to the regional community, including dance recitals, community arts performances, music performances, organ recitals, television and radio broadcasts, and theater performances. The venue also served as the anchor for more than nine decades of the regional cultural community.
