The Crypto.com Arena, previously the Staples Center, is a multi-purpose arena in downtown LA, which is located at 1111 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California, United States. The arena was opened for the public on October 17, 1999. The seating capacity it has for basketball is 19,060 (Clippers) and 18,997 (Lakers). For Ice Hockey it has 18,230 (Kings), 16,096 (Arena Football), 10,000-13,000 (Concerts), 21,000 (Boxing/Wrestling), and 8,000 (Concert Theatre). The arena is owned and operated by L.A. Arena Company, Anschutz Entertainment Group. The architect of the arena was designed by NBBJ.
The Crypto.com Arena is the home venue for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) as well as the home to the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. Michael Jackson's Memorial Service was held at the arena after his death in 2009. The arena hosted the 1st Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2000, and MTV Video Music Awards in 2012. It has hosted seven NBA Finals series since opened and also hosted three NBA All-Star Games in 2004, 2011, and 2018. The Staple Center has also hosted the 2000 Democratic National Convention. Also, Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions took place at the arena on September 24, 2016.
