Paramount Theatre Denver

Yachtley Crew
Paramount Theatre was originally built by Temple Buell for Publix Theatres in 1930. The theatre was able to surpass the standards of the dozens of theatres instantly within a short period. Since then, Paramount has remained the only local theatre of its time that has successfully maintained its original dignity along with glamour. The venue is said to be an excellent illustration of Art Deco's design. It is one of the greatest tributes to an architect who made considerable contributions to the region of Denver. The theatre is a unique reflection of a broad social and cultural phenomenon of the early decades of the 20th century that prevailed in the entire nation.
Paramount Theatre was no exception as compared to the early 1920s venues. The theatre's grand opening was attended by an estimated crowd of 20,000 on August 29, 1930. People gathered in the streets of Denver to celebrate the opening show "Let's Go Native." According to the rave reviews and widespread public awe, it was immediately established that the Paramount Theatre was the foremost movie house in town. The venue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the year 1980. It was also declared as a historic landmark in 1988 by the City of Denver.
Currently, the historic Paramount Theatre stands still as a vibrant and multi-event facility. Denver Metro residents love to enjoy a variety of entertainment options on an annual basis. Ranging from rock concerts to dance performances, movies to Wurlitzer organ performances, and comedy to lectures, the great Historic Paramount Theatre remains one of the top choices when it comes to Denver's entertainment scene.
