The Howard Theatre is a historic theatre located in Washington D.C. The theatre opened for the public in 1910, and in 1974 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre is known for catering to African-Americans in its heyday, hosting several of the great Black musical artists of the early and mid-twentieth century. It is also billed as the "Theatre of the People."

The Howard Theatre has a seating capacity of 700 (reserved) and 1,100 (general admission). It is owned by the Council of the District of Columbia and operated by Blue Note Entertainment Group. J. Edward Storck designed the architect when the initial construction took place in 1910.
