Duran Duran is an English rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor. Duran Duran was formed by John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, and Stephen Duffy, a friend from art school, on October 20, 1978, in Birmingham, England, one day after the BBC aired the 1968 science fiction film Barbarella. The band was named after "Dr. Durand Durand," a character played by Milo O'Shea. Duran Duran, the band's self-titled debut album, was released in June 1981 on the EMI record label.

Duran Duran performed on Austin City Limits on January 22, 2022. Duran Duran played the Platinum Party at the Palace in June 2022. The band performed at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in front of a sold-out crowd at Alexander Stadium in July 2022.

Fans voted the band into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, and in May, they were officially inducted as part of the class of 2022.

On March 20, 2023, Duran Duran posted to Instagram that they were working on a new musical project that would be released around the year's end. Andy and Warren are going to work together on this. The release date for Danse Macabre is October 27.
