Korn is an American nu-metal band that was established in 1993 in Bakersfield, California. The group is famous for popularizing and establishing the nu-metal subgenre. James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, Brian "Head" Welch, and Jonathan Davis (lead vocals, bagpipes) were the original three members of L.A.P.D. who formed Korn in 1993. 

In 2007, Ray Luzier (drums) replaced the band's original drummer, David Silveria. After the band turned down the term "corn" as a potential band name, Shaffer came up with the concept of spelling the name "Ko?n" with a "K" instead of a "C" and a reversed "R." Worldwide record sales for Korn exceeded 40 million in 2021. Eight of the band's official releases peaked at no. 5 on the Billboard 200, while twelve reached no. 10. 

Seven studio albums have received platinum certification from the R.I.A.A.: two have received double platinum, one has received triple platinum, one has received five times platinum, and two have received gold certification. "Forgotten" was the album's second single, released on January 13, 2022. The album Requiem was released on February 4, 2022. The group unveiled the video for their 2022 single "Worst Is on Its Way" on April 21.
