Marisa de Azevedo Monte (July 1, 1967) is a musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. She is well-known for specializing in samba and other forms of Brazilian popular music. Monte has received several national and international prizes, including seven Brazilian MTV Video Music prizes, four Latin Grammys,  nine Multishow de Msica Brasileira awards, six Prêmio TIM de Msica awards, and five APCAs. As of 2011, she has sold 10 million records worldwide.

Rolling Stone Brasil ranks Marisa as the second-best vocalist of all time, only after Elis Regina. She had two top 100 Brazilian albums (MM and Verde, Anil, Amarelo, Cor-de-Rosa, and Carvo).

The single "Bem Que Se Quis," a Motta-penned Portuguese version of Pino Daniele's "E Po' Che Fa'," propelled Monte to critical and commercial success after she signed with EMI in 1988 and took advantage of Rede Manchete's desire for a TV special covering her live concert to release it as the LP and VHS MM in 1989.

The fact that Monte controls the rights to every one of her songs was her primary need for EMI Music to extend her contract. Her 2008 single "No é Proibido" is featured in the video game soundtrack for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, published by EA Sports.
