Slander is a DJ duo consisting of Scott Land and Derek Andersen. At first, they only performed for their college peers and at small local venues. The name "Slander" is an amalgamation of the two individuals' given names, "S(cott) Land" and "Ander(sen)." Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Zoo, Sun City Music Festival, Electric Forest, and Ultra Music Festival are just a few of the festivals they have played.

As 2018 came to a close, Slander released a trio of songs in advance of their EP, "The Headbangers Ball": "You Don't Even Know Me" with Riot on September 20, "Running To You" with Spag Heddy featuring Elle Vee on November 15, and "Hate Being Alone" with Dylan Matthew on November 29. On November 29, they dropped an EP, too. Slander dropped their collaboration with Seven Lions and Dabin a month and four days before "Running To You" did.

Many months of teasers led up to the release of the "Potions" music video featuring Said the Sky and JT Roach on May 30, 2019. The track became available on all major streaming services the next day. The first studio album by Slander was titled Thrive, released on September 22, 2022. It's a "concept album," according to Dancing Astronaut.
