ZZ Top is an American band famous for their hard rock and blues-rock originating from Houston, formed in 1969. Texas Billy Gibbons on vocals and guitar, Dusty Hill on bass and vocals, and Frank Beard on drums make up the band established in 1969. Gibbons is also the band's leader, principal lyricist, and musical arranger.

ZZ Top's first album was released two years after the band's formation. The band made its name with their groundbreaking blues-rock. The band then expanded into punk rock and hard rock. In 1983, the group released "Eliminator," widely considered their finest work. Over 10 million copies of the record were sold in the US alone. With over 25 million records sold, they are among the top 100 best-selling musicians ever.

ZZ's longest-running albums are 2012's "La Futura" and 2019's "Goin' 50", a greatest hits collection celebrating the band's half-century existence. When Hill passed away in 2021, ZZ Top had already set a record as the longest-running band in rock 'n' roll history to include its original lineup. Elwood Francis, the band's long-standing guitar tech, took over bass duties per Hill's wish.

Raw, the band's album for their 2019 biopic "That Little Ol' Band from Texas," was released on July 22, 2022, via Shelter Records/BMG—one of the last live recordings they recorded with Hill. ZZ and Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced "The Sharp Dressed Simple Man" tour for the summer of 2023. The announcement was made on December 12.
