The University of Central Florida's men's basketball team is called the Knights. Near Orlando, Florida, it sits in unincorporated Orange County. UCF is a NCAA Division I member and will play in the Big 12 Conference beginning with the 2023–24 college basketball season. The Knights play their home games in the Addition Financial Arena on the main campus. Johnny Dawkins, who was named as their coach in 2016, leads the team.

UCF moved into its new home for the 2007-2008 season, the 10,000-capacity CFE Arena. On November 11, 2007, in front of a crowd of 4,668, the Knights played the Nevada Wolf Pack, the defending champions of the Western Athletic Conference. Record 10,011 fans saw an Illinois Fighting Illini game in the new Arena.

Six times (1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, and 1982), the Knights have competed in the NCAA Division II Tournament. There have been five appearances by UCF in the NCAA Division I Tournament (1994, 1996, 2004, 2005, and 2019). There have been seven regular season conference titles and five tournament titles won by UCF.
