The Rose Parade is a parade that marks the start of the Rose Bowl Game. It is also known as the Tournament of Roses Parade or simply the Tournament of Roses. The parade is held along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, typically on New Year’s Day. If not, then the event takes place on Monday, January 2. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association produces the Rose Parade. The parade includes marching bands, flower-covered floats, and equestrian units.

The Rose Parade is followed in the afternoon by the Rose Bowl, which is one of the major bowl games in college football. Hundreds and thousands of spectators watched the Rose Parade held for the first time on January 1, 1890. To help fund the cost of the parade, the Rose Bowl football game was created in 1902. Honda has been sponsoring the parade since 2011. According to the sponsorship, Honda has the parade’s first float.

On the morning of The Rose Parade, several different elements are merged and dispatched in the Tournament House. It begins at Green Street and starts to head north on South Orange Grove Boulevard. The parade passes the main grandstands at Colorado Boulevard and proceeds east. The recent Co-Grand Marshals of the Rose Parade were Gina Torres, Rita Moreno (from Electric Company), and Laurie Hernández.
