Knott's Scary Farm or Knott's Berry Farm's Halloween Haunt is a seasonal Halloween event held in Buena Park, California. It's an event in which a series of wandering monsters, scary mazes, and scare zones' convert the theme park into "160 acres of dread." It is believed to be the first, largest, and longest-running Halloween celebration at a theme park as of 2010. The annual six-week-long event, which began as a three-night extravaganza on October 26-28, 1973, will mark its 49th year.

George Condos and Martha Boyd of the marketing department and Bill Hollingshead and Gary Salisbury of the entertainment office presented the notion to the park's operations committee in September 1973. Bud Hurlbut, who created and operated the Mine Ride, Log Ride, and other rides, thought that static props weren't enough, so he dressed up as a gorilla and startled riders on the Mine Ride. The Halloween Haunt was an instant hit, and by the next year, it had sold out every night.

Calico, California, a ghost town left over from the California gold rush, was the inspiration for Knott's Berry Farm. This region would become the designed area for the initial Halloween Haunt, later expanding throughout the entire park, as the theme park already had a specialized Ghost Town part. Knott's Scary Farm has earned the Golden Ticket Award for Best Halloween Event from Amusement Today twice, in 2005 and 2007.
