The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago is a renowned dance company and academy based in the US. The Joffrey Ballet's yearly staging of The Nutcracker is a highlight of the Civic Opera House's holiday season.

Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino founded the company in 1956. Over the years it has gained recognition for ground-breaking performances like its reconstruction of Vaslav Nijinsky's lost choreography for the 1913 premiere of The Rite of Spring. The Joffrey Theatre debuted a brand-new "story ballet" based on Anna Karenina in 2019. In addition to having Yuri Possokhov as the Ballet's choreographer, the Joffrey and the Australian Ballet commissioned a new full-length orchestral composition from composer Ilya Demutsky.

Among the various projects undertaken by the company are tours, an educational program that includes the Joffrey Academy of Dance and the Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, outreach work in local communities, and collaborations with other arts organizations.

After relocating from the Auditorium Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet partnered with the Lyric Opera of Chicago beginning in 2020.
