Norfolk State Spartans football represents Norfolk State University in Division I FCS collegiate football. William "Dick" Price Stadium in Norfolk, Virginia, is the team's home ground. The squad participates in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference throughout the regular season. Norfolk State University is in Norfolk, Virginia.

Among Division I FCS stadiums, the multipurpose one completed in 1997 is among the biggest. The stadium was named Dick Price, former head football coach, track coach, and athletics director.  With bowl game participation in 1974, 1976, and 1979, Norfolk State succeeded in the late 1970s. 

The Spartans traveled to the Division II playoffs once in 1984 and advanced to the Quarterfinals before reaching NCAA Division I in 1997. Once more reaching the postseason in 2011, the Spartans met Old Dominion in the first round of the FCS Playoffs. The game created a rivalry between the two teams, producing a competitive home-and-away series.
