Disturbed is an American heavy metal band. The group's current lineup comprises Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren, David Draiman, and John Moyer. Singles "Down With the Sickness" and "Stupify" helped Disturbed to earn commercial success upon releasing their self-titled debut album in 2000. In October 2011, Disturbed went on an indefinite hiatus so that its members might pursue individual musical interests. They returned in June of 2015 with their sixth album, Immortalized.

To mark the 20th anniversary of The Sickness, the band announced a 31-date tour with support from Staind and Bad Wolves. It was reported that on January 27, 2020. After the pandemic, the band decided to push up their time to 2021.

From their next album, Disturbed unveiled a new single titled "Hey You" on July 14, 2022. The band announced their eighth studio album, Divisive, on September 23, 2022, and released the promotional single "Unstoppable" the same day. On November 18, 2022, the album finally hit shelves. After dabbling with several styles on their last album, this is a deliberate return to the band's earlier, more complex sound.

After spending a week at the top of the Apple All-format Album Chart, Divisive debuted at number three on the Album Sales Chart, number three on the Rock Album Chart, number one on the Alternative Albums Chart, and number thirteen on the Billboard 200 on December 3, 2022.
