Wolf Alice is a London-based alternative rock band that began as an acoustic duet in 2010. Joff Oddie (guitarist) and Ellie Rowsell (vocalist) make up the present configuration of the duet (singer). After Ellie Rowsell and Joff Oddie met the band during an open mic at the Hope & Anchor in Islington, Wolf Alice played their debut show at Highbury Garage in December 2010, supporting April in the Shade. Their first song, “Fluffy,” was released in February 2013, followed by “Bros” in May.

In October, Wolf Alice released their debut EP Blush, followed by Creature Songs in May 2014. The lead song “Giant Peach” was published in February 2015 from the band’s debut album My Love Is Cool, released in June 2015. It features their 2014 hit “Moaning Lisa Smile,” which reached number nine on Billboard’s Alternative Songs list in August 2015 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance the following year.

According to an interview, the Beatles, Siouxsie, and the Banshees, Blur, and Courtney Love are among the band’s favorite artists. Chess Club Records released Wolf Alice’s second single, “Bros,” in May. “Bros” was one of Rowsell’s earliest songs, which the band performed in their early phases, leading to a tour with Dressed Like Wolves and Dead New Blood.

In September 2017, the band released their second studio album, Visions of a Life. It debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and was widely praised by music reviewers. The album received the 2018 Mercury Prize after being named one of the year’s finest albums by various publications. Blue Weekend, the band’s third studio album, was released in June 2021.
