Passion Pit is an American indie pop band. Angelakos wrote the initial Passion Pit tracks at Emerson College as a late Valentine's Day present for his then-girlfriend. These songs would subsequently be included on the Chunk of Change EP. The band's first extended play, Chunk of Change, came out on September 16, 2008. Angelakos had written the first four tunes for his fiancée as a present. Their first extended play came out in 2008, the same year the band was named "Best New Local Act in 2008" by the WFNX/Boston Phoenix listeners. Passion Pit produced a new single titled "I FOUND U" on May 14, 2019, in collaboration with electronic group Galantis. By December 2020, the band has published 40 tunes via their SoundCloud account. Unfortunately, most tracks were removed from the service on December 22, 2023. Passion Pit, Grace Jones, Carly Rae Jepsen, and others performed live at the WeHo Pride by OUTLOUD Music Festival on June 2, 2023, as announced on February 21, 2023. Passion Pit's "American Blood" was re-released as a single on April 10, 2023. It was formerly available as an extra track on Gossamer's iTunes version. The band announced four more concerts on March 12 through social media and its May 18, 2024, performance at the Just Like Heaven music event in Pasadena, California.
