About Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen (November 21, 1985) is a Canadian actress, singer, and songwriter. She was born in Mission, British Columbia. She performed many lead roles while she was in high school. To pursue her career, Jepsen joined the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC, to craft a big name in the entertainment industry. After completing her education and settling in Vancouver, Jepsen participated in the fifth season of Canadian Idol in 2007. Jepsen released her debut folk-influenced studio album in 2008 called “Tug of War.” Her single “Call Me Maybe” brought her significant popularity. It was a breakthrough that came for Jepsen in 2012. That year, the song became the best-selling single of the year as well. The song also reached number one in around 18 countries. After this enormous success, she got signed to a joint worldwide record deal by Interscope Records and Schoolboy Records. Jepsen released her second studio album “Kiss” in 2012. The album reached the top ten in Canada and the United States charts. The “Kiss” has also won the award for “Album of the Year” in 2013. In March 2015, she released a lead single from her third album entitled “I Really Like You.” The song reached number 14 in Canada, and in the UK, it peaked in the top 5. Jepsen performed in the Broadway production for 12 weeks of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella in 2014. She has toured a few times in her career, including The Summer Kiss Tour (2013), Gimmie Love Tour (2015-2016), and The Dedicated Tour (2019-2020). Jepsen released her Emotion in 2015, and in 2019, she released her fourth album, Dedicated. Jepsen also got featured in a few hit films such as Lennon or McCartney and Ballerina, 2013, and 2016, respectively.
