Christopher Brent Wood (September 19, 1995) is an American R&B singer. He is professionally known by his stage name, Brent Faiyaz. He was born in Columbia, Maryland. When he and Shy Glizzy were featured on GoldLink's 2016 hit "Crew" as a group named Sonder, the song went 6x Platinum by the RIAA and landed him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Faiyaz began his musical career at the tender age of 12.

Faiyaz dropped his new single, "Wasting Time," featuring Drake, on July 1, 2021. After that, he was featured on songs by Baby Keem ("Lost Souls") and Tems ("Found") from their respective albums, The Melodic Blue and If Orange Was a Place. After previewing a new project on Instagram with the hashtag #Wasteland, Faiyaz finally dropped the lead single "Mercedes" on December 3.
