Brian Culbertson (January 12, 1973) is an American producer and musician born in Decatur, Illinois. He developed a talent for music at an early age and went on to play the piano, drums, trombone, bass, and euphonium when he was a high school senior. Sting, The Yellowjackets, George Duke, David Foster, Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, Chicago, Earth, Wind, and Fire were among his early musical influences.

His fourteenth studio album, 2014's Another Long Night Out, was inspired by his early work in contemporary jazz, as he wrote about on his blog in 2013. In 2015, he published a second live album titled "20th Anniversary Tour" from a performance at Yoshi's jazz club. Subsequently, he released a solo piano record for yoga and meditation.

Since it is his twentieth solo album, he appropriately labeled his most recent offering XX (Roman numeral for 20), released on April 10, 2020. The XX album is a genre-bending journey through tracks reminiscent of all of Brian's albums, including Smooth Jazz, Funk, Gospel, Pop, R&B, and more, featuring guests such as Mr. Talkbox, Bootsy Collins, Avery*Sunshine, Marcus Anderson, Everette Harp, Noel Gourdin, Patches Stewart, Ray Parker Jr., Paul Jackson Jr., Jubu Smith, Nicholas Cole, and more.
