The Cincinnati Music Festival, which has come a long way from its 1962 roots as the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival, is now a three-day extravaganza hosted along the riverside in Cincinnati. This three-day Festival has expanded from its humble beginnings as an all-jazz event to showcase the music of today's and tomorrow's most popular R&B, jazz, soul, and hip-hop performers, in addition to promising new talent.

Dons who have performed here before include Luther Vandross, Patti Labelle, Duke Ellington, New Edition, Earth Wind & Fire, Lakeside, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, and Miles Davis, among many others. Gerald Levert is also a member of this legendary group.

In 2000, the event attracted over 50,000 attendees per year from all across the nation, making it the biggest in the US. Throughout its almost 60-year existence, the Festival has been hosted at many locations, such as French Lick, Indiana, the Carthage Fairgrounds, and the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. It finally settled into its permanent home at Paycor Stadium on the riverfront in Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Music celebration Presented by P&G, which includes the Festival 513 street celebration, is believed to generate $107 million in yearly economic output, according to the Greater Cincinnati Center for Economic Education at the University of Cincinnati.
