He is professionally known by his stage name, Daniel Caesar born in <a href="https://www.ticketsonsale.com/regions/toronto">Toronto</a>, Canada. Caesar spent much of his childhood in Oshawa, Canada, singing in front of his father's church congregation. Although his parents were wary of the temptations presented by music, he was brought up listening to soul and gospel through musicality and religion. Caesar, who lived an hour outside of town, yearned to return there.

Debut album, Freudian, by Caesar, with the singles "Get You," "We Find Love," and "Blessed," was released on August 25, 2017. This album ranked among the best in 2018 and was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize. Caesar was nominated for Best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance for "Get You" at this year's 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Caesar's "Best Part" won Best R&B Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

Caesar collaborated with American singer-songwriter Giveon on Canadian artist <a href="https://www.ticketsonsale.com/concerts/justin-bieber">Justin Bieber's</a> chart-topping track "Peaches" from Bieber's sixth studio album Justice, released on March 19, 2021. On April 7, 2023, Caesar's third studio album, Never Enough, was released by Republic Records.
