In 1985, a progressive metal Dream Theater, a band comprised of technical musicianship and complicated compositions. Their music combines metal, rock, and a good dose of classical influences; most impressively, the band features skillful players and intricate songs. Over the years, they have built a dedicated fanbase with albums like Images and Words (1992) and Metropolis Pt. 2: Confederacy of the Damned (COTD; 1994), Scenes from a Memory (1999), considered milestone scenes of the progressive metal genre.

Dream Theater kept their fanbase excited in 2023 with a tour and live performance that repeats the songs that fill up their long, comprehensive catalog. A View from the Top of the World (2021) is the band’s newest and was well received as they can do new and maintain a classic sound.
