Foreigner is an American rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Mick Jones, Jeff Pilson, Kelly Hansen, Michael Bluestein, Chris Frazier, Bruce Watson, and Luis Maldonado. After six months of practice under their new moniker, Foreigner entered the studio in November 1976 to begin recording their debut album with producers John Sinclair and Gary Lyons at The Hit Factory. They later moved to Atlantic Recording Studios to finish recording the core songs and complete the overdubs.

The band's first album, Foreigner, was released in March of 1977 and sold five million copies in the United States alone, spending a whole year in the top 20 and reaching a peak position of #4.

In allusion to their song of the same name, Foreigner scheduled a summer 2020 tour titled "Juke Box Heroes" with backing from Kansas and Europe. Pilson stated that Thom Gimbel would leave the band on March 18, 2021. Luis Maldonado, a rhythm guitarist, took over for Gimbel. On March 20, 2021, Pilson confirmed that Foreigner was working on new music in the studio.

Ian McDonald, a founding member, passed away from colon cancer in New York City on February 9, 2022, at 75. They were named Kid Rock's opening act for some shows on his Bad Reputation Tour in 2022. The band announced its farewell tour on November 142022. The tour was scheduled to begin in 2023 and end in 2024.
