Il Divo is a traditional crossover singing group formed in the United Kingdom in December 2003 with members from many countries. Il Divo gained fame in 2004 when their first album, called Il Divo, went straight to number one in several countries. The group brought something new to music by mixing opera with pop. Their sound is powerful, emotional, and smooth, with songs sung in many languages, including English, Spanish, and Italian. The original group was made up of four singers from different countries: Urs Bühler from Switzerland, Carlos Marín from Spain, David Miller from the United States, and Sébastien Izambard from France.
