Iron Maiden is a heavy metal band from England. It was created in 1975 by Steve Harris, who plays bass and is the primary songwriter, in Leyton, East London. Harris, lead singer Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers have been the band's core members. However, the lineup has changed a few times in the beginning.

With the comeback of lead singer Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith in 1999, the band grew in popularity following some turbulent years in the 1990s. Each of their last three albums, Senjutsu (2021), 

The Book of Souls (2015) and The Final Frontier (2010) have peaked at number one in over twenty countries. Worldwide album sales for Iron Maiden have surpassed 130 million, and the band has earned over 600 certifications.

With the publication of 17 studio albums, 13 live albums, four extended plays, and seven compilations, the band's discography now stands at 41 albums. Along with two video games, twenty video albums, and 47 singles, they have also made music videos. 

Lyrically, Iron Maiden explores various subjects, including literature, religion, mythology, society, and history.  The band has performed at over 2,500 live performances as of October 2019.

The Future Past Tour will be the name of the band's upcoming concert series, which was revealed on October 6, 2022. The tour's theme is a mashup of Senjutsu and the relatively unpopular 1986 album Somewhere in Time. The band's second Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination came on February 1, 2023.
