About Jack Ingram

Jack Owen Ingram (November 15, 1970) is an American country singer, songwriter, and musician from the Woodlands, Texas. He was born in Houston and began writing songs at a young age. Ingram went to Southern Methodist University in Dallas and studied psychology. During the same time, he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. Ingram started his official singing career from a privately owned bar near the TCU campus, owned by his close friend John Clay Wolfe. In the early 1990s, Ingram toured Texas and opened for many acts, including Mark Chesnutt. In 1995, he released a self-titled album via Rhythmic label. It was followed by another release entitled Lonesome Question in the same year. Eventually, Ingram was signed to Warner Bros. Records and released a live album entitled Live at Adair's. His first two indie albums were also re-released under the same label. Ingram enjoyed his first appearance on the 22nd season of Austin City Limits in 1997. He released Livin' or Dyin' via Rising Tide Records in the same year. Some of his other notable albums include Hey You 1999, Electric 2002, Young Man 2004, This Is It 2007, and Big Dreams & High Hopes 2009. His EPs include Live at Billy Bob's Texas 2003, Live at Gruene Hall: Happy Happy 2004, and Live: Wherever You Are 2006. Ingram has earned major awards during his career. He won two Academy of Country Music in 2008 and 2018 and one CMT Music Award in 2007. Ingram was also nominated for the 2018 Grammy Award.
